MOBILE, Ala. – Add another quarterback the Vikings have met with at the Senior Bowl. Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo said on Wednesday he spoke to about 10 members of the Vikings staff and scouting department Tuesday evening, including head coach Mike Zimmer and quarterbacks coach Scott Turner.

Garoppolo said the interview went well and related to Zimmer's Illinois roots. As part of the interview procedure, he said the staff asked about his background and also had him draw up some plays given certain scenarios. Garoppolo said offensive coordinator Norv Turner wasn't present.

Along with Garoppolo, Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas, Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd and Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr have all met with the Vikings this week. Carr opened up a bit more about his interview with the Vikings, noting that Zimmer and Scott Turner were both present.

Arkansas defensive end Chris Smith said he met with the Vikings on Monday and spoke to defensive coordinator George Edwards. Smith measured at 6'1, 266 pounds at the Senior Bowl weigh-in on Monday.
