With the monsoon season underway, showers and thunderstorms are not unusualin northeastern India and Myanmar. In fact, many locations rely on the monsoonrain to help with harvesting crops. However, there are times when rain comesdown in drenching bouts, and Friday will be no exception. Areas along the coastof Myanmar will get rainfall totals of several inches in 24 hours.The heaviest rain will continue into Saturday. Locations such as Basseinwill receive around 2-4 inches (5-10 cm), with locally higher amounts. Theiraverage rainfall for June is 23.02 inches. Just to their north, Sandowayaverages nearly 48 inches in the month.
