Dorsher endorsed for House seat at closed DFL convention in St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD - DFLers endorsed Joanne Dorsher for the vacated House District 14A seat at a convention that was closed to the public. A St. Cloud Times reporter tried to enter the convention on Saturday at the St. Cloud Public Library, and Dorsher's campaign manager, Doug Clark, asked him to leave.

Clark said he made the unusual move of closing the convention because of worries about a "Republican tracker." Trackers are operatives from an opposing party who follow candidates with recording devices in hopes of recording a gaffe.

Dorsher was the only DFL candidate who filed to run in the Feb. 12 special election. Tama Theis is the Republican candidate; Todd McKee is the Independence Party candidate. ASSOCIATED PRESS
