Freshman Kevin Dorsey was suspended from playing in tonight's final exhibition vs. Southwest Minnesota State, the University of Minnesota announced on Friday via a release.

Dorsey, who played in the first exhibition but when 0-for-7 from the field and was called for four fouls, walked along the sideline in maroon sweats before the game.

The 6-foot guard -- a four-star recruit out of Maryland -- is expected to be a major piece of this year's squad as the quickest player on the team and one with starting potential.

The university would not elaborate on his suspension but said coach Richard Pitino would address it tonight in his postgame news conference.

The Gophers regular season begins next Friday, against Missouri- Kansas City.
