"Intro to deer hunting is for anyone who wants to learn about deer hunting but doesn't know where to start. We've had an elderly dad come with his adult children. We've had parents come with their 10- or 11-year-old children. We've had new immigrants – for example, the Russian community has found us. They came here, they found jobs, and now they're becoming part of Minnesota's outdoor heritage. We've had young urban couples come and say they wanted to source their food locally. It's open to anyone ages 10 and older who wants to learn about deer hunting in a hands-on setting. We'll have more than 20 volunteers working with people one on one."

Linda Bylander, outdoor skills coordinator, Minnesota DNR's Division of Fish and Wildlife

The Minnesota DNR's Introduction to Deer Hunting workshop takes place Saturday at the Forest Lake Sportsman's Club. To register, call before 2 p.m. Friday: 1-218-833-8628.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
