Sure, there are delicious $3 snacks during happy hour at Saffron Restaurant & Lounge (123 N. 3rd St., Mpls., 612-746-5533, www.saffronmpls.com), including fries with a sheep's milk fondue and house-made potato chips with a zesty yogurt sauce. But splurge on the menu's $7 items, including two of chef Sameh Wadi's knockout sandwiches: his version of a BLT, which layers tomato jam and arugula on house-cured lamb bacon, and a Midwest-goes-Middle Eastern butter burger. Served 4 to 6 p.m. weekdays.
