Some good takes on the latest data dump from the Census Bureau. The Star Tribune focused on the plight of young adults in the state and the still lousy job market for them. More than half of 18 to 24 year olds still live at home. There are signs that things have already hit bottom for them though.

Meanwhile the St. Cloud Times notes that 14 percent of residents live below the poverty line, and the number of the city's residents on food stamps rose during the year, as did the number of people paying an unaffordable chunk of their salary for rent and utilities. ________________________ Given its name, you would hope International Falls has good water. And a panel of experts declared it did, donning the town with the "Best in Glass" trophy for having the state's best tasting tap water. St. Cloud and East Grand Forks were also in the top three, but a panel of experts picked International Falls. The honor came at the annual convention of the Minnesota chapter of the American Water Works Association, going on in Duluth. The Duluth News Tribune has a blow by blow of the taste testing. ________________________ And out of Moorhead, Forum Communications has a fun story on a 20 year old who's been hopping trains from coast to coast since he was 10. The Grand Forks native was at a shelter in Moorhead. "You go out and see a lot of things, meet a lot of new people," he said. "I start feeling a little bit complacent when I sit around in one place for too long. I get bored with it." ________________________ Email us at DatelineMN@startribune.com Follow us on Twitter: @DatelineMN
