One NFL story line that has played out pretty much as expected: the Patriots and Tom Brady, since getting a late reprieve in the Deflategate controversy, have been tearing up the NFL and showing no mercy in getting off to a 3-0 start.

Brady has already thrown for more than 1,100 yards with nine TDs and no interceptions, helping New England put up 119 points (nearly 40 per game) to start the season.

If the Patriots are mad at the NFL (and by association all 31 other teams), they are taking it out on teams the best way possible: on the field, and with authority.

INCHING CLOSER One more victory will at least assure the Twins of their first nonlosing season since 2010. They're already 10 wins clear of 2014.

Hold that thought Thinking K.C. won't have anything to play for at Target Field next weekend? The Royals are still going for home-field advantage.
