Diablo does "Sweet Valley"

Diablo Cody and "Sweet Valley High" might seem strange scriptfellows, but she's going there. And she fought for it.

Here's a tidbit that makes my day: According to Variety, Diablo Cody is going to write and produce a big-screen adaptation of "Sweet Valley High," that incredibly popular, incredibly white '80s book series and mid-'90s TV show featuring Elizabeth and Jessica, teen twin sisters not much more evolved than Betty and Veronica, just moved up a few decades.

After "Juno" and "Jennifer's Body," this seems quite a topical shift for Cody. But she twittered to fuggirls: "You don't know how many bitches I took down to do this project. I went full Jessica. Believe it." (thanks, jezebel.com). I think we can count on our girl to twist these sisters up a bit. Oh, and her other upcoming project is "Breathers: A Zombie's Lament."
