Starting Wednesday, motorists who take Kellogg Boulevard and a couple of adjoining routes through downtown St. Paul will have to find other routes for the next seven months.

To accommodate the city's rebuilding of Kellogg between Market and Wabasha streets, that stretch will be closed to all traffic through November.

At the same time, the eastbound lane of the Exchange Street viaduct, which feeds Kellogg, will be closed, as will the southbound lanes of the Wabasha Street Bridge.

Access to businesses and parking facilities will continue, and pedestrian access routes will be marked. Posted detours will redirect traffic to 7th and Robert streets.

The $12 million project calls for rebuilding two bluff-side bridges that have supported that two-block stretch of Kellogg since the 1930s.
