The basics: The park, in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, contains 60 peaks more than 12,000 feet high. It is one of the highest of the national parks, with elevations ranging from 7,860 to 14,259 feet. Park headquarters, Beaver Meadows Visitor Center, was designed by architects at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture at Taliesin West and is a national historic landmark.

Visitors: 4,155,916 people ­visited the park in 2015.
