A 45-year-old man from Delavan, Minn., was killed early Wednesday when his motorcycle veered off a road into a ditch in Faribault County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

James A. Hoppe was driving his 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on 170th Street in Clark Township just before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday when he lost control of it and veered into a north ditch just east of 600th Avenue. He was thrown off the bike and was dead when emergency personnel arrived.
