defensive line

There are three new starters under the age of 27 and all four backups are new, including two rookies. So, yeah, you can call this a major overhaul of the Vikings defensive line.

New coach Mike Zimmer made it clear that fixing the defensive line with younger legs was his No. 1 priority in the wake of last year's league-worst scoring defense.

"We had a good run with some great players," said left end Brian Robison, the only returning starter. Gone are Kevin Williams, Jared Allen. At 34 and 32, respectively, they were too old to survive a youth movement.

"It's hard, but I just let everything go from last year," Robison said. "This is a new year. It's about a new line doing new things and creating a new identity."

Worth considering
