Minnesota's deer hunting season will impact several state parks as the state Department of Natural Resources attempts to manage numbers of the animals.

"We do our best to minimize the disruption to park visitors, but in some cases safety concerns require us to close — or partially close — the parks where these hunts take place," said Ed Quinn of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource's parks and trails division in a news release.

Hunts are planned in several Minnesota state parks this fall to help manage their deer populations. Access to the parks will vary park to park. For example, Afton will be closed Nov. 5-6 for a youth hunt. Itasca already has had limited access owing to youth and mentored hunts.
