September 25, 2009 at 12:25PM

A storm that has been stalled over the past several days and dropped snow overthe Colorado Rockies will finally begin pushing eastward over the next fewdays. It will be spreading a dreary, cool, and steady rain across the Midwesttoday into the weekend.Areas from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa through the Ohio Valley and thesouthern mid-Atlantic will be dealing with the damp and nasty weather today.

Some of the downpours across portions of Minnesota and Wisconsin in particularcould be rather heavy and could cause some minor flooding.

Overnight, the rain will encompass the entire Great Lakes region. Showers andthunderstorms will be scattered across the area on Saturday in the wake of thestorm. Some small hail could fall in a few areas.

The next cool push --the coolest air of the season so far-- will move acrossthe northern Plains on Sunday, reaching the Great Lakes into Monday. Gustywinds will also be stirred.
