The No. 3-ranked Gophers volleyball team swept Indiana 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 on Wednesday night at the Sports Pavilion to remain alone at the top of the Big Ten standings

Daly Santana led the Gophers (18-3, 10-1) with 17 kills, six in the first set. Sarah Wilhite and Molly Lohman combined on a block for the winning point in the second set. And Daly's 17th kill ended the match in the third set.

"I feel real proud about the job we are doing," said Santana, a 6-1 senior outside hitter from Puerto Rico, in a postmatch interview on the Big Ten Network. "… We know how to play when it gets really big."

Santana hit .333 — her team .308 — and also had eight digs.

Sarah Wilhite had eight kills for the Gophers, Molly Lohman had seven kills and a match-high six blocks. Dalianliz Rosado led the home team in digs with 16.

Elizabeth Asdell led the Hoosiers, who hit .107, with nine kills.

"The team competed with a lot of composure," Gophers coach Hugh McCutcheon said. "… It seemed like a pretty steady effort by our team and its nice to see that."

This was the first of four consecutive matches at home for Minnesota, which has won nine matches in a row.

Indiana (13-10, 3-8) was coming off a 3-0 win over Northwestern on Saturday but has lost six of its past eight matches.
