Annual Baroque Concert on March 17

The Dakota Valley Symphony will feature the works of master Italian violinist Arcangelo Correlli — with promises to add an Irish twist to the concert because it takes place on St. Patrick’s Day.

Tickets are still available for the evening performance and can be purchased in person at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center’s box office or via Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com or 800-982-2787. They range in price from $5 to $16.

Second City tickets now on sale

Tickets are on sale now for the Burnsville Rotary’s night of laughter with Chicago’s well-known comedy group, the Second City on April 27.

Featuring improvisational and scripted elements, the group will perform its “Laughing Matters” show.

Preshow entertainment, including live jazz, complimentary appetizers and a silent auction, will begin at 6 p.m. on April 27. The main event begins at 8 p.m. at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center, 12600 Nicollet Av. All proceeds benefit the Burnsville Rotary.

Seating is reserved, and tickets can be purchased at the box office ahead of time or at the door for $39. VIP meet-and-greet tickets are available for $75 and include a chance to meet the cast after the show.

Summer day camps at Heritage Village

The Dakota City Heritage Village will again offer four-day sessions of day camp this summer.

For those 13 and older, the Teen Volunteer Camp will be offered June 17-20. For youth ages 6 to 12, three different weeks of the Apprentice Day Camp are available — June 24-27, July 15-18 or July 22-25.

Kids will experience what life was like in the early 1900s and what it was like to be an immigrant during that time. Each Apprentice Day Camp session is limited to 24 participants.

The costs for all camps is $125 per youth, and registration is open through June 1. The camps will take place at Dakota City, 4008 220th St. W. on the fairgrounds in Farmington. To register or for more information, go to www.dakotacity.org or call 651-460-8050.

Northfield theater plays ‘Twelfth Night’

Auditions for Northfield Arts Guild Theater’s upcoming production of the beloved Shakespearean play “Twelfth Night” will be held Sunday, March 17, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Monday, March 18, from 8 to 10 p.m., at the Center for the Arts, 304 Division St., Northfield.

Teens, adults and those with a sense of humor, musical skills or dancing ability are encouraged to audition. Scripts are available to check out at the Northfield Arts Guild. Those auditioning should read the script before they arrive.
