Contest highlights National Poetry Month

Submit an original poem to the Dakota County Library for a National Poetry Month contest.

Entries can take a variety of forms — haiku, free verse, odes and raps among them — and should be dropped off at a Dakota County Library branch or sent via e-mail to tami.richardson@co.dakota.mn.us between April 1 and April 30. Poems will be judged by age group: children 5 to 8 and 9 to 11, teens 12 to 14 and 15 to 18, and adults 19 and older.

Winners will be announced in May and will be published on the library website. For more information and an entry form, go to www.dakotacounty.org/library and search for "poetry contest."
