Have you baked Almond Triangles, the love-at-first-bite winner of our seventh-annual Taste holiday cookie contest, and wondered just how the heck you get from a beautifully nutty pan of bars into neat little triangle-shaped cookies?

It's easy. Just follow these six simple steps.

1. Using a sharp knife, carefully trim around the edge of the pan, creating a clean perimeter (and remember, the cook gets first crack at the scraps).

2. Cut straight lines down the long length of the pan, forming rectangles roughly 1 1/2-inches wide.

3. Turn the pan 90 degrees, then cut the long rectangles into squares roughly 1 1/2-inches wide.

4. Using a spatula, transfer squares from the baking pan to a cutting board.

5. Cut the squares into triangles.

6. Arrange Almond Triangles on a serving plate and enjoy.
