I'll have what they're having I don't think 1989's "When Harry Met Sally ... " (8 p.m., Lifetime) qualifies as a New Year's-theme film (Billy Crystal running down the streets of New York to smooch Meg Ryan when the ball drops may be the most ridiculous scene in the movie), but the film does have a lot of warm-fuzzy moments, which is just what we need during this frigid holiday season.

Beltway bunkmates The 23rd season of "The Real World" (9 p.m., MTV) comes from Washington, D.C., but, as usual, the roommates are less interested in political advocacy than hooking up with each other. Still, a heated argument about religion in the premiere suggests this outing won't revolve entirely around the hot tub.

Patti unrocks "Patti Smith: Dream of Life" (9 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2) doesn't give much time to the artist's most known (and loudest) material. Instead, it focuses on quieter work, like the beautiful and haunting "My Blakean Year," a tribute to William Blake and to director Steven Sebring who decided to focus on the less glamorous, but fascinating side of a punk legend.
