Not so jolly ol' England Ken Follett's novel "World Without End" (7 p.m., Reelz) comes to life in this miniseries co-produced by the late Tony Scott. The setting is 14th-century England, where the medieval town of Knightsbridge is fighting for freedom from the church and crown.

Real people "My Life Is a Lifetime Movie" (9 p.m., Lifetime) does away with hiring expensive thespians and allows women who have been betrayed, manipulated and manhandled to directly tell their own tale. I'm guessing the Screen Actors Guild isn't exactly rooting for this to succeed.

No Tootsie role Emmy winner Jessica Lange, above, returns for a second season of "American Horror Story" (9 p.m., FX), except this time she appears to be a sadistic nun. Others in this retooling of a fright factory include James Cromwell, Chloe Sevigny, Sarah Paulson and Zachary Quinto.
