The man killed last week after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Hwy. 282 near Jordan was identified as Cyril "Cy" Frank Wolf, the Hennepin County medical examiner's office said Tuesday.

Wolf, 85, was the longtime chairman of the Sand Creek Township board.

He died Thursday after being struck about 7:30 p.m. by a Toyota Highlander driven by Andrew T. Krominga, 31, of Burnsville. The crash occurred on Hwy. 282 west of Morlock Drive. Wolf died at the scene of "multiple blunt force injuries," according to the medical examiner and the State Patrol.

Alcohol was not a factor, the State Patrol said. Krominga, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

Lt. Tiffani Schweigart, a State Patrol spokeswoman, said that a crash reconstruction is underway and that it could take several weeks to determine the cause.

"At this time, I cannot say conclusively if there will be criminal charges," Schweigart said. "However, as there was a fatality, the final investigative findings will be sent to a prosecutor for reviewal for charges."

Scott County Commissioner Joe Wagner, a Sand Creek Township resident, said the community is reeling from the loss of a man who led its township board for nearly 40 years.

Wolf was known for taking daily walks along Hwy. 282 near his home. He also chaired Scott County's board of townships, Wagner said.

"He lived for that township — he really did," Wagner said.
