Country Throwdown makes a lot of sense. Put together a dozen or so mid-level and newish country acts for a daylong traveling festival. The producers of the alt-rock Warped Tour for the past 15 years have announced the Throwdown for 2010, specifically between May 13 and June 20.

No word yet on whether a Twin Cities date is on the itinerary.

But some performers for the multi-stage event have been announced: Montgomery Gentry, Jamey Johnson, Little Big Town, Jack Ingram, the Lost Trailers, Eric Church and Ryan Bingham.
