A story on A1 Tuesday overstated the number of municipal water systems in Minnesota that have excessive nitrate levels. Of 729 municipal wells tested by the Minnesota Department of Health in 2014, several dozen community systems had nitrates consistently above the maximum safe level, but those municipalities either treat the water or take the affected source off-line.
