NEW PRODUCTSBoston Scientific Corp., Natick, Mass. and Twin Cities, announced the U.S. and international launch of its Expect Endoscopic Ultrasound Aspiration Needle, used for acquiring tissue samples for diagnosing and staging malignancies in organs next to the gastrointestinal tract. The Expect Needle received Food and Drug Administration clearance and CE Mark approval earlier this year and is being marketed in the United States, Europe and other markets.
NEW BUSINESSMedtronic Inc., Fridley, and Bayer HealthCare have expanded their international alliance to include the United States and will work exclusively to develop next-generation diabetes management for patient with wireless blood glucose meters worldwide. Since 2007, the two companies have collaborated in more than 20 countries by providing Bayer's Contour Link meter to people with diabetes who use compatible MiniMed Paradigm insulin pumps and the Guardian Real -Time continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system from Medtronic.

Imation Corp., Oakdale, has named L. White Matthews III as non-executive chairman of the board, succeeding Linda Hart, who retired. Matthews, an Imation board member since 2003, retired as executive vice president and chief financial officer of St. Paul-based Ecolab Inc. in 2001.
Select Comfort Corp., Plymouth, has named Wendy Schoppert chief financial officer, effective June 6. Schoppert, now senior vice president and chief information officer, succeeds Jim Raabe, who is resigning as CFO to accept the role of CFO at Lindsay Corp., a provider of irrigation systems and infrastructure products based in Omaha.
