Young birders club
Young birders now have their own organizationThe Minnesota Young Birders Club, for birders between ages 13 and 18, sponsors field trips, conservation projects, citizen-science efforts and other learning experiences.
The club also connects young birders to one another through workshops and social media.
Open to all young birders in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, the club holds monthly events and a weeklong summer camp. An annual fee of $20 covers nearly all events sponsored by the club.
For more information, visit www.warnernaturecenter.org/youngbirders, or contact the club’s coordinator, Kirk Mona, at email@example.com.
Catch all the action in a Twin Cities eagle nest on the EagleCam maintained by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Nongame Wildlife program. The female eagle laid three eggs in the nest in early January, almost two months earlier than usual for this species. The eagles will have to work hard to keep the eggs viable in the cold.
