Celebrate 19th-century style at Godfrey House

What was the holiday season like in the 1850s? Get a taste at the Ard Godfrey House, the oldest remaining wood-frame house in Minneapolis, built in 1849. The Woman's Club of Minneapolis is hosting an 1850s Holiday Party at the house on Dec. 6, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Guides will be dressed in period costume to share how the Godfrey family celebrated the holiday when historic St. Anthony Falls was a new community. The party will include light refreshments and musical entertainment. Admission is free; donations suggested. The house is in Chute Square Park at 28 University Av. SE., Mpls. Street parking is available.
