Bill Clinton is coming to Blaine on Sunday to watch some football and support Rep. Michele Bachmann's DFL challenger Tarryl Clark.

After raising money for Clark at a private fundraiser last month, Clinton is returning to Minnesota for a "Vikings-Packers watch party and rally" this weekend at a union hall in Blaine.

The "tailgate party" begins at 7 p.m., followed by kick-off at 7:30 with Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken.

The stop is likely calculated to galvanize local Democrats before the election in less than two weeks. Clark will need ample turnout from local DFLers to make headway in the fairly conservative Sixth District.

Clinton has previously criticized Bachmann's statements about "gangster government" and described her political comments as "pretty stupid."

Bachmann used that last Clinton stop to raise more money for her campaign, particularly through online ads.
