The Twins' list of managerial candidates continues to grow as Indians bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr. will interview for the position, according to a foxsports.com report.

Alomar has been on the Indians' coaching staff for six years, serving as the bench coach for the past two seasons.

Twins General Manager Terry Ryan would not confirm that he's bringing in Alomar for an interview but said that his list of candidates has changed as he goes through the process. He's added and dropped some names since his search began a little more than a week ago.

"If something would come up through the process and we get a recommendation, we would take a look at it," Ryan said. "If a suggestion comes my way, I would look at it."

The Twins still are waiting for the playoffs to end before looking into other candidates, but Ryan said a new manager could be named by the end of the month. If he wants to announce a manager during the World Series, he would have to receive permission from the league to do so.

Alomar, 48, played in 20 major league seasons and was named to the All-Star team six times. His inclusion on the list of known candidates satisfies the policy of including minority candidates during a managerial search.

Alomar is the sixth known candidate linked to the Twins. Oakland bench coach Chip Hale was scheduled to meet with the Twins on Thursday. The Twins have received permission to interview Boston bench coach Torey Lovullo.

The Twins already have spoken with in-house candidates Paul Molitor, Doug Mientkiewicz and Gene Glynn.

"We have a lot of people we are going to talk to," Ryan said.
