In 2008, Minnesota voters authorized a sales tax increase for conservation, arts and parks.
The funding breakdown:
• 33% to Outdoor Heritage Fund for wetlands, prairies, forests, and fish and game habitat ($80 million in FY 2010; $91 million in FY 2011)
• 33% to Clean Water Fund for natural water quality and to protect drinking water sources ($80 million in FY 2010; $91 million in FY 2011)
• 14.25% to Parks and Trails Fund ($35 million in FY 2010; $39 million in FY 2011)
• 19.75% to Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund for arts, arts education and arts access, and to preserve Minnesota's history and cultural heritage ($48 million in FY 2010; $54.5 million in FY 2011)
