Thursday-Saturday and June 7: Commissioned by New York's Orpheus Chamber Orchestra as part of an imaginative project to create companion pieces for each of Bach's "Brandenburg" Concertos, Aaron Jay Kernis' 2009 "Concerto With Echoes" shares this week's Minnesota Orchestra program with two of Osmo Vänskä's specialties: Beethoven (the stern C-minor Piano Concerto), with soloist Yevgeny Sudbin and Sibelius (the Second Symphony, with its overwhelming climax). The program reads like a season finale, but no -- the band has further treats in store.
