Sunday: With musicians of both local orchestras locked out, the center of musical gravity has shifted to smaller venues -- and orchestra-goers, robbed of their usual diet, owe it to themselves to do some exploring. For starters, try young Czech pianist Lukas Vondracek (a late sub for Behzod Abduraimov, who was injured) in a Frederic Chopin Society recital with music of Grieg, Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff. Or join members of the Twin Cities' own Musical Offering in their multiyear probe of Vienna; their intriguing program couples Brahms and Mahler with Ferdinand Ries and Alfred Schnittke. (Chopin Society, 3 p.m. Sun., Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center, Macalester College, 130 Macalester St., St. Paul, $12-$23, 612-822-0123 or chopinsocietymn.org. Musical Offering, 3 p.m. Sun., Sundin Music Hall, Hamline University, 1531 Hewitt Av., St. Paul, $10-$15, 651-523-2459 or musicaloffering.org.)
