Sunday 5/6

It's fun to see classical musicians stretch themselves. There's no better opportunity than the Minnesota Orchestra Chamber Music series at MacPhail Center. In addition to familiar names, such as Brahms (whose Quartet No. 2 for Piano and Strings is featured with Julie Ayer, violin; Thomas Turner, viola; Marcia Peck, cello, and Edith Orloff, piano) and Heitor Villa-Lobos (whose Trio for Oboe, Clarinet and Bassoon is played by Julie Gramolini Williams, oboe; Gregory T. Williams, clarinet, and J. Christopher Marshall, bassoon), the concert features the string trio "Maesta" by American composer David DeBoor Canfield. It's played by Roger Frisch, violin; Richard Marshall, viola, and William Schrickel, bass.
