CLASS 4A

CLOQUET (12-0) vs. HOLY ANGELS (11-1), FRIDAY, 4 P.M.

Attack of the Running Quarterbacks. Sounds like a bad B-movie. But fleet-footed signal callers take starring roles in the title game. Cloquet's Tim Pokornowski ran for a career-high 249 yards and a 59-yard touchdown vs. South St. Paul in the semifinals. His counterpart, Joseph Heimbold of Richfield-based Holy Angels, tallied 145 rushing yards and three scores in the Stars' semifinal victory vs. Winona. Stop them and you've got solid running backs to consider. Cloquet's Spencer Wehr averages 105 yards and almost three TDs per game in the playoffs. Thomas Shelstad of the Stars is fresh off a season-best 113 rushing yards against Winona. The Lumberjacks reached the state tournament quarterfinals last year. The Stars battled through one of the toughest Class 4A schedules this fall.

The pick

Jim: Holy Angels 30, Cloquet 24

David: Cloquet 24, Holy Angels 21
