class 4a: hutchinson 35, Delano 9

Recap: Hutchinson made up for an early hiccup by scoring five touchdowns and not giving up another. The defending champions scored on three consecutive drives after giving up an interception on their opening drive. Marcus Hahn rushed for two touchdowns and threw for one. Jake Wendland's two interceptions ruined a pair of Delano drives. Adam Elliott had an interception and Jayden Fleck scored Hutchinson's first touchdown. Tory Adams put the game out of reach when he ran 19 yards and knocked the helmet off a defender for a 28-9 lead in the fourth quarter.

Key of the game: Delano got within 6 yards of tying the score at 14-14 late in the second quarter, but instead found itself trailing 21-7 after failing to convert in the red zone and then missing a field-goal attempt. Hutchinson responded with an 80-yard touchdown run by Hahn on the ensuing play.

Quote: "We answered right away and just kind of kept going and never took the pedal off the metal." — Hutchinson senior defensive end/wide receiver Jake Wendland.

One thing to know: Hutchinson extended its winning streak to 25 games and is one game from back-to-back undefeated seasons. Delano's only other loss this year was to Hutchinson, 30-14.
