Class 3A title game halftime: St. Paul Johnson 32, Grand Rapids 26

Thunderhawks giving No. 1 Governors a real battle

March 28, 2010 at 12:06AM

Some great moments from both teams' star guards in this game. Johnson's Estan Tyler, a Star Tribune first team all-metro selection, converted a three-point play then hit a three-pointers on the Governors' next possession. He has 16 points.

Grand Rapids' Michael Johnson has just five points, but he made a great coast-to-coast drive and layup late in the first half. Whether Grand Rapids can keep up in the second half remains to be seen, but it's been an entertaining 18 minutes so far.

Jannik Sinner insisted early on at Wimbledon that he put an excruciating loss to Carlos Alcaraz in their epic French Open final behind him. Sinner was sure that one defeat wouldn't haunt him, wouldn't prevent a quick recalibration and certainly wouldn't mean a thing at the All England Club.
