The Class 3A high school baseball state championship game between Mounds View and Eden Prairie has been postponed to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Target Field.

The Minnesota State High School League announced the change as rain fell at the conclusion of the second of two championship games held Monday at Target Field.

St. Cloud Cathedral defeat Fairmount 5-4 for the Class 2A title in a game that began at 3 p.m. Earlier, New Life Academy defeated New York Mills 5-4 for the Class 1A championship.

All three games had initially been scheduled to be played on Saturday but the threat of rain prompted the high league to move them to Monday.

The league also postponed the boys' lacrosse championship game between Rosemount and Eden Prairie. It had been scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Chanhassen High School after it was postponed from Saturday night because of lightning.
