A goal from leading scored Taylor Wodnick in the 69th minute gave the Trojans the title over No. 1 ranked and defending state champion Woodbury.
Erin Krause got Wayzata on the board in the 49th minute, then Woodbury tied it up on Caitlin Graboski's penalty kick in the 58th minute. This was the third time these teams played for a championship. Wayzata won in 2002, Woodbury in 2003.
