OSAKIS SILVERSTREAKS vs. BOLD WARRIORS

10 a.m., Target Field

Osakis (20-2): Players believed they could make their first-ever state tournament and go all the way to Target Field. The proof came between the lines as the Silverstreaks won the Prairie Conference championship with 10 victories and two losses. "Playing that strong and that consistent — I knew we were going to go a long way," pitcher Kilar Zimmel said. The next run Osakis surrenders in the state tournament will be its first. The two-man rotation of Zimmel and Jordan Frederick combined to pitch shutouts in the Silverstreaks' first two tournament games.

BOLD (17-6): The Warriors took the hard road to the title game. They ousted Class 1A top state tournament seed Wabasha-Kellogg in the quarterfinals on junior Logan Sandgren's six-inning no hitter. He added a home run in a 12-4 semifinal rout of defending champion St. Agnes. Not bad for a team that lost both state tournament games last season. "We wanted to come back and prove we are the best team in this tournament," junior Trevor Nissen said.

The call: BOLD 3-2
