Circumcision: Yes or No?

Reader query.

A query from Strib reporter Kristin Tillotson....

A recent CDC-affiliated study found that circumcision performed on baby boys in the US dropped from 56 percent in 2006 to 32.5 percent in 2009.

Doctors note that the data is skewed because it doesn't take into account the growing number of procedures performed in clinics rather than hospitals (because it's cheaper). But they do think that a growing number of parents are choosing not to have it done.

Reporter Kristin Tillotson of the Star Tribune would like to hear (soon) from parents who have recently (within last 2 years) opted either yes or no on circumcision for their kids, and why.

Also let me know if reduced insurance coverage was a factor. Please email kristin.tillotson@startribune.com with contact information. Thanks!

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
