The Gophers are expecting attendance for Saturday's game against San Jose State to be about 47,500. That includes about 2,000 tickets distributed through the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota.

On his weekly radio show (KFAN 100.3-FM), Coach Jerry Kill said it might be in running back Berkley Edwards' best interest to redshirt. Edwards has yet to play this season because of a sprained ankle and still isn't 100 percent.

Kill also indicated running back Donnell Kirkwood would be eased back slowly from his ankle injury. He'll play on special teams against San Jose State, Kill said, but it sounds like Rodrick Williams and David Cobb will get the bulk of the carries.

Kill said defensive end Alex Keith (broken hand) is questionable, and that Nick Rallis (mono) won't be cleared until next week.
