A statement has been released at Winter Park. The quick news: Cornerback Chris Cook will remain with the Vikings for now.

The statement from the team is as follows: "Chris Cook will remain on our 53-man roster but will not participate in our football activities at this time. We have met with Chris and spoken with his agent and have agreed that currently, Chris should focus on his off-the-field matters."

Vague? Absolutely.

Head coach Leslie Frazier will be available to reporters shortly after the team concludes its afternoon practice and should be able to shed additional light on the team's decision.

Cook has missed the Vikings' past two games and the team said it had suspended him without pay after he was arrested Oct. 22 and later charged with a felony count of domestic assault. Cook's next court date on the matter isn't until Nov. 22 and a final legal resolution to the incident is likely much further off than that.
