Chickenfoot -- featuring Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony of Van Halen, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Joe Satriani -- will rock the Myth in Maplewood on Aug. 10. ... Kings of Leon will return Sept. 28 to Target Center; K'Naan comes back to the Fine Line on July 8; Pete Yorn is there Aug. 12-13. ... Elton John, Gladys Knight, Tony Bennett and Billy Crystal will perform at the Starkey Hearing Foundation gala July 12 in St. Paul. ... Sade is recording her first album since 2000's "Lover's Rock." ... The Hold Steady stars in a new ad in Rolling Stone for Bravo's "Top Chef Masters." ... Whitney Houston's overdue album -- her first since 2002 -- now has a Sept. 1 release date... Twin Cities guitarist Jeff Hill, co-owner of the influential Knut Koupee Music Store in the 1970s, was saluted Wednesday at the Fine Line by many Minnesota musicians, including Curtiss A, Kevin Odegard and Dennis Libby. Hill, 57, died last month of esophageal cancer.
