One of the Twin Cities' best beer bars, the Muddy Pig, crosses the decade milestone this month. To celebrate, the St. Paul pub is throwing one if its total-tap-takeover beer festivals (48 taps!). The theme this time is pretty simple: great, rare beers broken down by style. As usual, you can buy them in flights (three 5-oz glasses) for $8. It's a great way to expand your beer palate. The tap takeover has already started and runs through Sunday, July 1.

The pub will have some extra-special brews on hand, including the Summit Ten Cubed, a beer that the St. Paul brewery made especially for the Muddy Pig last month (the IPA contains 10 malts and 10 varieties of hops). The bar will tap Cubed on Saturday. Summit isn't the only brewery giving the Pig some big-time love. The Colorado brewery, Odell, has created its own birthday present to the Pig – a Belgian Tripel it's calling Muddy Pig X. It'll be available on Saturday, as will a couple Odell beers you don't see in Minnesota (such as Easy Street Wheat and Pond Hopper Imperial IPA).
