U.S. Gymnastics Championships

What: The national championships for men's and women's artistic gymnastics, the event will crown champions in senior and junior competition, determine the U.S. national teams and help decide which athletes will represent the U.S. at this fall's world championships.

When, where: Thursday-Sunday, Indianapolis

Minnesota connections: With four athletes set to compete, the Twin City Twisters club in Champlin has the second-most entries in the women's field of any club in the country. Maggie Nichols (Little Canada), who was third in the all-around competition at last year's championships, is part of the senior field. Abby Paulson (Coon Rapids), Olivia Trautman (Champlin) and Tori Tatum (Chanhassen) will compete at the junior level. On the men's side, Shane Wiskus (Spring Park) is part of the junior elite 10 15-16 field.

Schedule: The women's competition is Thursday (juniors at noon, seniors at 6 p.m.) and Saturday (juniors noon, seniors 6:30 p.m.) The men will compete Friday (juniors noon, seniors 6 p.m.) and Sunday (seniors 12:30 p.m., juniors 6:30 p.m.)

TV: Live coverage will air on Universal Sports on Thursday (6:30-8:30 p.m.) and Friday (7-9 p.m.) and on Ch. 11 on Saturday (7-9 p.m.) and Sunday (2-3:30 p.m.). NBCSN will show taped coverage Thursday (11 p.m.-1 a.m.) and Friday (midnight-2 a.m.).
