PREP SPOTLIGHT GAME DAY

CHASKA AT CHANHASSEN, 7 P.M.

Chaska update: The Hawks surged to a 41-39 comeback victory against Hopkins in a Zero Week game before sitting idle last week. Their explosive option offense rolled up 295 yards rushing and four touchdowns, including three in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Justin Arnold led the way with 171 yards. Running back Kolby Seiffert added 86 yards and a score plus a fumble return for a touchdown. Chaska has lost three consecutive games in this series, but coach Lambert Brown felt his team was a few plays from winning the past two.

Chanhassen update: An offense shut out in a 20-0 loss to Hudson (Wis.) last week gets a boost with the debut of senior running back Raymonte Maynard. The transfer from Minneapolis Washburn was cleared to play by the Minnesota State High School League. Last fall, Maynard rushed for 1,108 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Millers. In addition to clearing holes for Maynard, the Storm's strong offensive line, led by Frank Ragnow, must slow Chaska's pressure defense.

Rivalry edge or revenge? Chanhassen defeated Chaska 18-7 last season and ended the Hawks' season with a 20-14 playoff victory.
