What: The last women's event on the Olympic Alpine hill at Rosa Khutor.

When: run 1, 6:45 a.m. Friday; run 2, 10:15 a.m. Friday.

The American: Mikaela Shiffrin, an 18-year-old who finished fifth in the giant slalom, has ruled the World Cup circuit in slalom the past two years.

The others: Tina Maze of Slovenia won the downhill and pushed Shiffrin for the slalom title during the 2012-13 World Cup season. Others to watch include the defending champion, Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany, Marlies Schild of Austria, and Frida Hansdotter of Sweden, who is second to Shiffrin in the World Cup standings.
