Different hire for city athletics

New Minneapolis Public Schools athletic director Trent Tucker, who obtained his college degree at age 46, has an unusual résumé for someone in his role. He calls himself a different, not risky, hire. “Change is good,” he said.

Pro basketball background: NBA player for 11 years. Member of Chicago Bulls (1992-1993 champions), San Antonio Spurs (1991-1992), New York Knicks (1982-1991). First-round draft pick (sixth overall) in 1982.

Minnesota ties: Gophers men’s basketball 1978-1982, All-America selection in 1982. Jersey retired in 2011.
