An 18-year-old man exchanged messages with a 15-year-old girl on Facebook, showed up at her Rosemount home in the middle of the night and raped her, according to authorities, and investigators say they suspect there are more victims.

Michael L. Stucky Jr., of Northfield, has been charged in Dakota County District Court with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, one of them filed because of the girl's age.

"Information obtained by police during the course of their investigation has led police to believe there could be other victims," the county attorney's office said in a statement released Tuesday. Authorities are urging that Rosemount police be contacted at 651-322-2001 with information about additional victims.

According to the criminal complaint:

The girl, upset and crying, met with police at Fairview Ridges Hospital on Aug. 6 and said that Stucky arrived at her home about 4 a.m. after the two had messaged each other on Facebook.

Stucky began kissing the girl, and she resisted by pushing him away with her foot and "saying no multiple times." Stucky removed her clothes and forced her to have sexual intercourse.

Police interviewed Stucky, who said the sex was consensual and that he did not know the girl's age.

"It is very troubling to see social networking sites used in this manner," said County Attorney James Backstrom. "This predatory behavior targeting children over the Internet is a far bigger problem than most parents realize."

Stucky remains held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
