A reader from Plymouth told Whistleblower that when he checked in to a downtown Minneapolis hotel for a two-day stay in July, he allowed the valet service to park his 2003 manual-transmission Volkswagen Jetta. When he retrieved his car at the end of the stay he found that its clutch was ruined and the car had to be towed to a repair shop. "The smell of burning clutch material was evident under the hood of the vehicle," he said. The clutch cost him $1,746 to replace and he said he promptly submitted a damage claim but has yet to hear from the hotel. Has a valet parker ever damaged your car?
